There isn't much to comment on about this, but you did a good job since you didn't reveal too much of the episode's plot, yet you revealed enough to interest the viewer.

The sound quality is good and the file size is very small, which is a huge plus.

I always liked how Wise Frog was roasting a marshmallow in this scene. It's a nice little gag.

artistunknown responds:

Holy shit, this has a review now. But yeah, I really like this scene and always thought it was humorous, which is probably why I chose it as a sneak peek. Another gag in this is how the oil for the um "car" is white, heh. Thanks for the review!

As a flash, it's too simple, but as a header, it's good - I like animated headers.

artistunknown responds:

Woo a 6 out of 10, that's better than half! Are you just reviewing everything of mine that you haven't reviewed yet? But yeah, thanks for the review :3

It's refreshing to see an informational video on Newgrounds.

You did a good job on the 'educational' aspect of it, and you presented the information in a way that it didn't drag. I liked your use of background music throughout the entire "documentary." I'd say the best part of it was obviously in the beginning, since it was animated.

The animation that was in this was pretty good, though there's one thing I have to nitpick. 0:56 - the 'economy' falling down didn't fall down immediately after the shot, and the animation of it falling down should have been quicker. This may just be me nitpicking, though I personally found it very noticeable; actions like that have to be animated on ones, though I understand that you were short on time when making this.

For what it is - an educational presentation - I'd say it's very entertaining. It's rare that I see any educational presentations with any entertainment value. One of the big pros of this is that since it's entertaining, the information being taught might stick to the viewer's mind, if that makes sense.

artistunknown responds:

While I do blame any wrong looking animation on my limited amount of time, it's not really an excuse since I could have polished it up before posting it online, but I didn't. I'm glad you liked my overall presentation, I really only had a little bit of time to plan it out, as most of the time was spent researching and actually putting the thing together. And yeah, I totally agree with information sticking better if it's presented in an entertaining way. I always try to be entertaining with my educational stuff, even if I have to resort to lame puns. Thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked it!

a good start.

The animation, as you know, is choppy, though the writing and pacing of it is great.

artistunknown responds:

So ya finally review the first episode, eh? Why the fuck was I not notified of this?! Ah well. Yep, the animation is pretty sub par in this, and it's amazing how far I've come since then. I'm not sure if I dislike this one or episode 4 more, probably this one just because episode 4 at least looks pretty :3. Thanks for the review!

I really enjoyed this. All of the animation here is very good, and really smooth. One thing I really liked about this was how each part was fully animated. Everything moves so smoothly, and it looks really nice and impressive. Also, I must give you some serious props for animating that crowd so well. That takes skill.

Great job!

Thanks matey! You have no idea how much that sort of comment means to me!
Thank you so much for making my day infinitely better!
THANK YOU!!

funny, and well-animated.

The humor was definitely there, and the animation is really good. There's a lot of frame-by-frame animation here, and it's all really smooth, which is one of the major strengths of this cartoon. I also noticed that there's some shading here, so that definitely helps.

One of the issues I noticed was at the end of Wise Frog's "I got tacos, if you know what I mean," by the end of that shot, he progressively gets smaller, which creates a noticeable proportion issue since he's right beside Frogman.

It was all really good, though

artistunknown responds:

It's not that he's getting smaller, he was just slowely bending over. I can see how it does look like he's getting smaller though, especially since my proportions are fucked up to begin with. Nonetheless, thanks for the review!

Amazing.

The animation was a huge improvement from your other cartoons. There was a lot of frame-by-frame animation and all of it is really smooth and nice to look at, especially since it's all done on ones. Though the animation was great overall, there are a few minor things I'd like to go over.

I think the rain animation in the first shot could've been improved, maybe it'd be better if you drew the rain once and then panned it down for an endless loop. I also think that the way it just sort of fades out before the next shot is a bit weird, I think it'd look better if it just kept raining.

Really smart use of music choice. The music set the atmosphere for this scene and it really enhances the emotion the viewer could feel through this scene.

The voice acting was really good, everyone who voice acted really nailed the emotion of this scene. There's a minor issue I noticed with the lines, though it's not with the voice acting itself, it's about the sound levels. Frogman's lines are noticeably louder than Pico's, and sometimes the background music makes Pico's voice seem a bit soft, but it's okay for the most part. For Pico's "wallowing in my sorrows" line, the reading seemed a bit too fast, unless that's what you were aiming for.

I really like the writing, a lot of emotion in it and I agree with the message about NG's popularity declining.

Overall this was really good and I look forward to seeing more!

artistunknown responds:

Yeah, I agree about the rain, I think I'll change that in the final version.
I think the imbalance in audio levels is due to different mics being used. I used a cheap headset for Pico's lines, and though it's not crap, it is a bit quiet. FrogMan's voice actor recorded with a blue yeti, so his lines would be louder. I suppose I could go back and fix the audio levels though. I'm not sure what would be with the line sounding too fast, though I do tend to read lines rather fast sometimes, so I guess that's a messup on my part, thank you for the compliments on the voice acting though.
Thank you for the review. It will really help with working on the rest of the film.
